About the CCGIThe Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute (CCGI) incorporated as a not-for-profit membership organization in 2012 and is dedicated to advancing principles of corporate governance across the Caribbean. CCGI has no political or religious affiliation or activity. CCGI operates autonomously and is not controlled by any single external governmental, business or commercial interest. CCGI has a proven track record, having been selected in 2012 by its partners, the Trinidad & Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange, as the Secretariat for the Trinidad & Tobago Corporate Governance Code (published in November 2013). The three partners continue to work together to disseminate, educate stakeholders, and review local and international developments so as to keep the code current and of maximum relevance. Since 2014 the Institute provides world-class training, professional development, and networking for Directors and Senior Executives. In 2015 the CCGI was registered by the Accreditation Council of Trinidad & Tobago as a secondary or tertiary education institution. In The CCGI works closely across various stakeholders groups to establish and maintain appropriate corporate governance standards and guidance for organizations and investors operating in the Caribbean. Over the coming years we aim to serve members in the following twenty CARICOM countries: Anguila, Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks & Caicos Islands. CCGI's Vision is to be the leading non-profit professional membership organization serving directors and investors in the region individually and collectively, bringing about effective organizations and efficient markets in the Caribbean. CCGI's Mission is to promote world class transparency and competitiveness for companies in the 20 CARICOM countries through the promotion of leading corporate governance practices, education programs, corporate governance guidelines, networking, linkages with regional and international bodies, and by providing counselling on corporate governance and related matters. |
