The Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute presents
RAISING THE CURTAIN ON BENEFICIAL OWNERSHIP OF COMPANIES: Part 2
Update on the new law on Company compliance
On August 29th, we explored this new legislation which makes it mandatory for companies to submit new documents to the Companies Registry or face penalties which include fines and jail time.
We advised that every company and every shareholder should consider whether they are affected by this new law which came into force on May 29, 2019 and introduced the new filing requirements. While the deadline of June 30, 2019 had passed, we had noted the difficulty in compliance because the accompanying prescribed forms had not yet been released by Government. However, these have now been completed.
The Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute invites you to attend our Breakfast Seminar to discuss the above.
Date: Saturday 26th October 2019
Time: 7:00am to 10:30am
Venue: Hyatt Regency, Trinidad
All companies (with limited exceptions*) and their directors, company secretaries and other officers as well as shareholders are affected by this new law and should attend.
*Public companies with shares listed on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange are exempted from these requirements as are Companies listed on a regulated market.
We look forward to seeing you there!
