Master Class:
Effective Corporate Governance for State owned enterprises
Corporate governance of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) is a major challenge in many economies. For this reason the OECD took time to prepare guidelines geared specifically for this sector. However, though these international principles are relevant, it can seem far removed from the reality that faces many of our state-owned companies in the Caribbean region. In fact, when it comes to Guyana there is a special need to have the discussion on corporate governance of State owned enterprises. With the advent of the new-found oil wealth, there is critical urgency in discussing how to ensure high standards of corporate governance of SOEs since this would be critical to ensure financial stability and sustain growth for the country.
Join us for a Masterclass on Corporate Governance and State-Owned Enterprises facilitated by a global expert in corporate governance. This one-day workshop will be held on Friday 29th November 2019 from 8:30am to 3:00pm.
Target attendees
All directors (whether or not you currently hold a position in a state-owned enterprise), senior managers, advisers to Boards, Auditors and anyone who wishes to better understand how to improve on governance practices of state enterprises. Also, this would be of interest to all individuals who serve at a level in a company which provides direct support to the Board
