Master Class: Corporate Governance and the Role of Audit & The Audit Committee

As the role of the audit committee continues to evolve, it becomes increasingly important for its members to remain up to date and aware of changes to their responsibilities. The audit committee is a central pillar of effective corporate governance and is in the best position to offer several key roles. These include effective oversight of the performance, independence and objectivity of the auditor and the quality of the audit.

The audit committee’s role should also focus on the following:

  • Future requirements and any changes to its policies and procedures to increase its own effectiveness.
  • Choose the audit firm it believes is most appropriate for the company.
  • Be equipped with sufficient knowledge and insight about the audit and the auditor.

Join us for a Masterclass on Corporate Governance and the Role of Audit and Audit Committees. This one-day workshop will be held on Wednesday 20th November 2019 from 8:30am to 4:00pm at the Trinidad Hilton and Conference Centre.

Target attendees

All directors (whether or not on the audit committee), senior managers, advisers to Boards, Auditors (so they understand the expectation of the Audit Committee) and anyone who serves at a level in a company which provides direct support to the Board.
